Happy July 4th! We are so privileged to live in this great country!! I decided to tell you the 5 top reasons why I love July 4th.
Number 5. I love fireworks! Even though it’s a 100 degrees outside, much to my husbands dismay, I love to go to fireworks displays. I drag him along (secretly he loves them) and we go watch fireworks somewhere every year!
Number 4. I love small-town parades. Floats and bands come by, throwing out candy, making it festive with everyone having a good time. It reminds me of the days I spent with my grandparents in the small rural cities on the 4th. It’s not quite the same here, but still all a part of the celebration!
Number 3. I love the food we get to eat on July 4th. While it might not be the healthiest or our routine food we eat, since it’s the 4th, it’s allowed!
Caleb and I are in Tiananmen Square on July 4, 2016. Beijing, China is a beautiful place and we love it there.
Number 2. Spending time with my friends and family is something I love to do. In fact, this year it will be a bit more special. My son Caleb has been studying in China for the last year and he is coming home for a month. He will be here over the 4th and I am sooo excited!
And the Number 1 reason I love the 4th of July: is that I love celebrating the birth of our great nation. We are so fortunate to live in the United States and on this day, we can celebrate the blessings we receive because we live here.
